A Maidenhead based charity that helps patients and healthcare professionals understand and control heart conditions has received a welcome £1,000 donation.

The Hyperlipidaemia Education & Atherosclerosis Research Trust UK is based in North Road, Maidenhead. The charity has been going for 30 years, working in partnership with Government, the NHS, industry and other charities to prevent deaths with vital dietary advice and in depth information about cholesterol conditions - particularly inherited ones.

The £1,000 award came from the specialist insurers Ecclediastical - which invited thousands of people across the UK to nominate good causes for a share of its £1million giveaway.

As the UK’s fourth largest corporate donor, Ecclesiastical donates all its available profits to charity.
