A drinks bottle thrown from a white pick-up truck has hit a cyclist.

It happened on Sunday, May 31 at about 2.35pm as two cyclists were travelling south on the B3021 Southlea Road from Datchet to Windsor.

Someone in the truck lobbed the bottle which hit the cyclist in the chest. He suffered bruising and inflammation to his chest but did not need hospital treatment.

The incident is being taken seriously by police who believe it could have had disastrous consequences.

Investigating officer PC Alexander Massey from the Windsor and Maidenhead Smarter Resolution Team, said: “This was a frightening experience for the two cyclists, and I am appealing to anyone who has any information about this incident to come forward.

“If you were driving or cycling in the area at the time and saw anything, please get in touch."
