Firefighters from Langley battled a blaze on open ground at Ingram's Copse in Farnham Common at lunchtime on Wednesday.

It took two hours to bring the woodland fire which covered a 20m by 20m area under control.

The public is asked to be careful in the current hot weather when ground is tinder dry and fire can spread quickly, after a second blaze the same afternoon at 4pm had to be tackled by firefighters from Slough and Maidenhead.

It began in a garden incinerator in Ray Mead Road, Maidenhead and spread to a fence and a garage.

Two breathing apparatus and hosereels were used to put it out.
