A man from Slough has been jailed for 15 months after admitting abducting a 15-year-old girl.

Anthony Day, 51, of Hatton Avenue, Slough, pleaded guilty to one charge of abduction and one of sexual communication with the girl at a hearing at Reading Crown Court on Wednesday, May 20.

He will also be placed on the Sex Offender Register for ten years.

Day sexually communicated with the girl between October 16 and 17. He abducted her from Bath Road, Slough on December 19. She was found the same day.

Day was arrested on December 20 and charged with abduction the following day. A subsequent charge of sexual communication was brought on February 27.

Investigating officer, Sergeant Hannah Broughton, based at Maidenhead police station, said: “The young victim in this case and her family have shown extreme bravery since this terrifying ordeal.

“Day has shown no regard for the law, which is reflected in his sentence.

“As a registered sex offender, measures will now be put in place for us to be able to closely monitor him.
