Windsor's Thames Hospice received a welcome visit on Thursday from the Duke and Duchess of York.

Prince Andrew and his former wife Sarah Ferguson came bearing gift packages which they prepared themselves earlier at their home at Royal Lodge in Windsor Great Park.

Pictures posted earlier on Instragram by the Duchess' assistant Antonia Marshall show the couple at work getting the tasty Easter treats ready..

The hospice has been providing 'end of life' care for people since it was opened by the Queen over 32 years ago.

It is due to move to new larger premises near Bray Lake later this year after outgrowing its current site in Hatch Lane.

It is proving a difficult time for the hospice which is currently also caring for Corona virus sufferers which is putting an enormous strain on staff and volunteers.

It also and faces the loss of £1million worth of income because of the lockdown that has closed its fund raising shops and stopped fundraising activities.

Thursday's royal visit carried out in a private capacity by Andrew and Fergie will have been a great morale booster.
