Langley's own 'star foodie' Jasmeet Dial showed the TV superstar chef Gregg Wallace how it is done - when the latest episode of the ongoing MasterChef competition was shown on BBC-1 last night.
The latest heat of the gripping contest that is keeping locked down television viewers enthralled saw the remaining competitors - all semi-finalists - asked to make a tasty dish out of ingredients chosen by Gregg and fellow star presenter and chef John Torode.
Gregg was uncertain about Jasmeet's proposed lamb and kidney curry with eggs included, saying: "I don't see eggs and kidneys as bedfellows."
By the end of the show he declared it his favourite of all the dishes prepared by the nine semi-finalists.
His co-presenter agreed.
'What's not to like' enthused John Torode.
Earlier in the show Jasmeet had joined his fellow contestants in a dramatic race against time to prepare a three course meal for 120 sailors and officers on board the destroyer HMS Diamond in Portsmouth for their annual Trafalgar Day dinner.
He helped make the desert - a blackberry mousse with caramalised pairs - as the clock ticked, the hungry sailors waited and a tough navy chef turned up the pressure.
Last night's show ended with two of the contestant chefs eliminated - but Jasmeet stayed as one of the 'magnificent seven'.
On Wednesday viewers will see them all battle to create a recipe using ingredients they have never used before - and create a dish for someone they love.
The show was filmed weeks ago of course and Jasmeet, a 37-year-old graphic designer is watching while 'locked down' at home like everybody else with his wife and young daughters.
