Police are out in force at Wentworth Avenue on the Britwell estate today.

They are still investigating an attempted murder there that happened a week ago - on Thursday, March 26 at about 9.20pm.

The road remains open but a cordon is now being put round the scene of the incident, as police continue their appeal for witnesses.
 
The attack happened as the victim, a 26-year-old man, was sitting in a white Ford Luton style box van with a friend.

Two men approached the vehicle and fired a gunshot through the passenger window, hitting the victim in the shoulder.

The victim was taken to hospital for treatment where he underwent surgery. He has since been discharged.

An 18-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and possession of a firearm. He has since been released under investigation.
