GENESIS have moved into the second promotion spot in Division Two of the Maidenhead District League after a 32-31 win against Risers at Kidwells Park on Tuesday.

The team capitalised on a defeat for Frenzy to leapfrog them in the table with four matches still to play this season.

Risers got off to a flying start in the match and took a seven-goal lead into half-time, but Genesis had a storming third quarter with some great shooting and defending to overhaul their opponents and take a two-goal advantage into the final period.

Risers pulled level with less than three minutes still to play but Genesis got an interception to score the deciding goal in a thrilling end to an enthralling contest.

League leaders Titans took on high flying Frenzy, who led by a single goal in a fairly even first quarter but lost their goal attack to injury when the game was still evenly matched.

Titans showed why they have a perfect winning record in the division with some great play to pull away and take the win 36-18 in the second half of the contest.

Titans now have a 12-point lead on the chasing pack and can secure the title with victory in two of their remaining four matches.

The Firebirds led Windsor Roses by two goals at the end of the first quarter, but Windsor had an amazing second period to score 13 and restrict their opponents to just two.

Windsor Roses pulled further ahead in the second half of the match to take the win 31-20 and remain in contention for promotion - currently in fifth position and seven points behind Genesis.

Blaze led Apple Travel from the start with another display of great shooting and were too strong in a 37-16 victory.

Second-placed Blitz took on Havoc in a feature game in Division Three in midweek. Blitz led from the start and opened up a four-goal advantage.

Havoc pulled it back slightly but could not quite recover from the slow start so Blitz 24-21 took the win to remain in second place.

Top-of-the-table Blue Magnets were pushed all the way by Meister but the young stars managed to record another impressive win - 25-20.

Ants took on Woodley in a mid-table clash and the former led by four goals after the first quarter before pulling further ahead to take the victory 31-22.

Bluebirds led Henley from the start and kept the advantage throughout although Henley did manage to secure an important point from the 30-16 defeat.

Chancers kept up their push for a promotion place after a convincing 39-7 win against Crazies. The Chancers are now only three points behind second-placed Blitz.

Rubies leapfrogged Margaritas in Division Four following their 28-16 victory at Kidwells Park on Wednesday night.
