CHALFONT St Peter made it back-to-back wins in the BetVictor South Central Division after a 3-2 victory against Staines Town on Saturday, writes Rob Stevens.

The Saints had not won consecutive matches in the league since the first week in the season, but continued success sees them climb one place to 13th position in the table.

Goals from Tayo Oyebola and Jamie Splatt gave Staines a clear lead heading into the break at Mill Meadow.

The home team recovered to secure all three points with goals in the second half from both Okem Chime and Wraynel Hercules sandwiched between a Riccardo Alexander-Greenaway penalty.

Chalfont make the trip to promotion-chasing Chertsey Town this Saturday (3pm) looking to complete the league double after victory in the reverse fixture back in November.

Marlow saw their five-match unbeaten run at home in the league come to an end following a 2-1 defeat against Chipstead.

The Blues had not lost at Oak Tree Road since the defeat to league leaders Ware back in mid-December and this most recent loss sees them lose ground in the race for the play-off spots.

A Chris Ovenden penalty kick gave the home side a narrow lead heading into the break but goals in the final minute of normal time from Jacob Sewell and Samuel Clayton – the latter from the spot – saw Chipstead leave with the points.

The defeat means Marlow drop two places to 11th position in the table and nine points behind the play-offs ahead of a trip to third-bottom Ashford Town (Middx) on Saturday (3pm). The two sides drew 1-1 in the reverse fixture back in November.

Marlow turn their attention to the Berks & Bucks Senior Cup and a quarter final tie at home to Reading on Wednesday night (7.45pm).
