Rugby loving pupils from The Windsor Boys School will be joining Slough firefighters to wash visitors' cars this May - as they fund raise for the school's Under 15 junior rugby tour to Canada.

The Canadian tours have been running for 15 years and have benefited more than 450 boys in that time.

The car wash with firefighters on May 2 will raise money to split between the Firefighters' charity and the boys' Canadian trip.

There is a special connection as one of the boys going on the tour is Dylan Waring, whose mum Felicity Screen is a firefighter at Slough.

Pupils are also selling raffle tickets and taking part in a sponsored ‘Run to Twickenham Stadium’ from the school to raise vital extra funding towards the trip.

They will also be bag packing in Waitrose and Tesco stores in Windsor in April and May.

Meanwhile the school's director of sport Gareth Breen has written to local companies inviting them to sponsor the boys' sports kit in return for having their logo displayed.

He said: "The tour takes place over 10 days consisting of between three and five games against Canadian schools including Upper Canada College, one of the richest and most highly regarded private schools in Canada. The boys stay with their opposition families, allowing them to learn about and experience the Canadian way of life and culture."

As well as all this a £10 business card raffle is being held. The winning business will have its company logo embroidered on the back of the tour fleece. The draw date for this is March 16.
