HIGH Wycombe Judo Centre has been busy since the start to the New Year and already landed 19 medals including five gold in 2020.

Both Antony Ashton and Dan Cuadrado gained valuable fighting experience whilst competing at the Eurometropole Masters in Lille. Ashton won a well-deserved bronze medal in a competitive category.

Senior members competed in the University of Warwick Invitational Tournament with both Tony Castielli and Ryan Carter winning a gold medal. The duo of Laura Plumridge and Liam Hodges came home with silver whilst Max Griffiths landed a bronze medal.

High Wycombe Judo combined forces with other local clubs to enter a Berks & Bucks team which put in a strong performance to beat seven other sides and win the gold medal.

The team included both Ashton and Joe Chraniuk from High Wycombe, Martin Rance and Joey Murphy from Pinewood Judo Club and Stokenchurch Judo Club pair Dan Cuadrado and Jerome Secardin.

Junior members competed in red and yellow belt rumble competition at their home Dojo in Cressex with both Ellie James and Daniel Madden striking gold.

There were silver medals for both Rihanna James, Chloe Price, Isabelle Majekodunmi and Danny Puleston. The quintet of Abby Puleston, Harrie Puleston, Booshan Vijayakumar, Ben Hodges and Adam Geggus all won bronze.
