CHESHAM United completed a hat-trick of wins in all competitions after a 2-1 victory at Wimborne Town in the BetVictor Southern Premier South on Saturday, writes Rob Stevens.
The Generals are now unbeaten in their last four matches and not tasted defeat since the loss to Swindon Supermarine almost three weeks ago.
The visitors to The Cuthbury handed a debut to Scott Shulton, who joined the club from St Albans City in midweek, while Lewis Rolfe, back for his third spell at Chesham after signing from Hitchin Town, was named amongst the substitutes.
Chesham took the lead when Bradley Clayton saw his free kick from the edge of the box parried by Wimborne keeper Cameron Plain, but Eoin Casey was on hand to tap in from close range on 24 minutes.
The Generals doubled the advantage as Casey set up Zak Joseph for a shot from the edge of the box that beat Plain at his near post with the help of a slight deflection in the 33rd minute.

The visitors looked in control of the game, but Wimborne halved the arrears just two minutes later. A through ball from Tony Lee sent Curtis Young clear to slot a shot pas the advancing Ben Goode.
Wimborne came closest to scoring in the second half when a corner kick into the box was not cleared and a shot from Antonio Diaz was deflected onto the post before the ball was scrambled away.

The win means Chesham remain level on points with Truro City – who won at Hendon last weekend – at the top of the table but crucially now nine points clear of the chasing pack.
The Generals return to The Meadow for the visit of Hartley Wintney this Saturday (3pm) looking to complete the league double after a 2-1 win in the reverse fixture back in October.
Beaconsfield Town gained a vital point in the battle against relegation following a 0-0 draw at Welsh club Merthyr Town last weekend.

The Rams were unfortunate not to break the deadlock in the first half at Penydarren Park when Louis Stead cut inside from the left and saw his low 25-yard shot beat keeper Alex Harris but cannon off the face of the post.
Merthyr were also denied by the woodwork before the break as a left-footed drive from Eliot Richards cleared stopper Myles Bowman but crashed down off the underside of the crossbar.
The home team could have nicked all three points late in the game when a through ball picked up in the strong wind and had Bowman back-pedalling towards his own goal.
The keeper had the presence of mind to slap the dropping ball away from under his bar before James Taylor prevented substitute Camden Duncan from diverting the rebound into the net.

The draw means Beaconsfield remain second from bottom in the league but now just four points behind Walton Casuals and with three games in hand on the side directly above them in the table.

Beaconsfield face a tough match against promotion-chasing Tiverton Town at Holloways Park on Tuesday night (7.45pm).
Chalfont St Peter ended an 11-match winless streak in the BetVictor South Central Division after a 1-0 victory at Harlow Town on Saturday.
An unfortunate own goal from Jandir Goncalvez-Da Cruz in the first half was the difference between the two sides at The Harlow Arena.
The Saints last tasted victory with a win at Northwood back on Boxing Day and remain in 14th position in the league table.
Chalfont welcome bottom side Staines Town to Mill Meadow this Saturday (3pm) looking to gain revenge for the 6-1 defeat suffered in the reverse fixture back in November.
Marlow are now three matches without a win on the road in the league following their 0-0 draw at table toppers Ware last weekend.
The Blues stand in 11th position in the table and nine points behind the play-off spots ahead of a visit to Oak Tree Road from second-bottom Northwood on Tuesday night (7.45pm).
