A STRING of shops and restaurants have been named as the best in Bracknell's Lexicon by customers.

The shopping centre hosted the first The Lexicon Retailer Awards on Sunday to celebrate the retailers within.

More than 150 people headed along to a ceremony at the weekend to mark the occasion and a list of shops, restaurants, and individuals were crowned among the best.

Taking home the title for best Cafe and Coffee was Pret A Manger, closely followed by Costa.

Then just pipping Las Iguanas to the post for best restaurant was Wagamamas who took the top spot.

Primark was the shoppers winners for best large retailer just beating Cineworld which was the runner up.

Specsavers won the crown for best medium-sized store, closely followed by The Entertainer.

Runner up for best small store was Pandora as L'Occitane and The Body Shop jointly took the title.

L'Occitane teams were certainly happy when staff member Melinda Blackall also took home the title for best service with a smile, with Fenwick's Danielle Wing highly commended in the category.

The Lexicon also presented special awards to security supervisor Rufai Hydara, and security officer Jordan Higginson 'for their great work over the past year'.

Long Service Awards were also presented to cleaning operative Terry Francis, for 18 years of service and operations manager Sam Buckley for 25 years with the town centre team.

Rob Morris, general manager at The Lexicon says: “We were delighted that hundreds of our customers took part in the Awards by voting for their favourites.

"Following the success of the event, it is something that we are now planning to do every year.”

The event was held at The Grange Hotel and hosted by radio presenters Ady Williams and Michelle Jordan.
