THE legendary Daniel store in Windsor has triumphed at Tuesday night's Toy Industry Awards last week.
The company won the Department Store Toy Retailer of the Year award for the second consecutive year, beating top nationwide competitors at the lavish ceremony held at Olympia.
The judging panel was made up of nationwide industry experts from British Toy and Hobby Association and the toy industry press.
Daniel first opened its toy department in 1946 - bringing much needed fun to rationed, austerity Britain.
It has since grown into the famous 10,000 square foot Toy Kingdom.
The store remains independent and family run.
Warren Du Preez, toy buyer, said: "Winning the BTHA ‘Department Store Toy Retailer of the Year’ for the second consecutive year is a fantastic team achievement and it was truly wonderful to be presented with this prestigious award. Our thanks are extended to our team’s tireless efforts and contributions, which make the department a truly magical experience for our customers to come and enjoy.’’
The Toy Industry Awards recognise the very best in toy retail, product design and toy supply for the UK and Ireland.
