There was something for everyone when Datchet's Christmas tree lights on the Green were switched on on Saturday.
Parish councillor Allan Corcoran organised the festivities that climaxed with the switching on of the lights by Father Darcy Chesterfield-Terry from St Mary's Church with a little help from Santa.
There were gift and food stalls, music from St Mary's School Choir and the Datchet Community Choir - as well as singer Damian Delahunty.
The Datchet Border Morris men did their stuff and a children's entertainer kept younger visitors happy, when they were not busy having their faces painted.
An Advent carol service at St Mary's Church reminded visitors of the true meaning of Christmas, as well as providing welcome shelter against the winter chill.
Shelter could also be found in the WI Hall where Santa had his grotto.
Mr Corcoran said: "The idea was to have something for everyone."
