THE Wycombe Wanderers Sports & Education Trust (WWSET) is looking for up to 30 keen cyclists to take part in the 2020 Charity Bike Ride.

Those who sign up for the ride and to raise funds for WWSET will leave Adams Park on Thursday 30th April for a 260-mile cycle scheduled to finish at the Wham Stadium, the home of Accrington Stanley, in time to watch the final game of the season on Sunday 3rd May (12 noon kick-off).

It is hoped that the riders will be able to raise considerable funds for WWSET - the official charity of Wycombe Wanderers Football Club.

All of the funds raised will go towards the delivery of their various activities and projects, which focus on one or more of the following; promoting health and well being, contributing to social inclusion and community cohesion, providing educational opportunities and increasing participation in sports and physical activity.

The ride will be professionally organised and fully supported leaving the riders to focus on keeping the pedals turning.

The route will be guided, transport back to High Wycombe will be provided, hotel rooms on the Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights will be booked, support vehicles will accompany the riders the whole time and each participant will be kitted-out in a custom designed cycle top. WWSET will even organise match tickets and a meal for all riders upon arrival at the Wham Stadium.

Paul Foley is head of WWSET and said: “The Wycombe Wanderers Sports & Education Trust is a registered charity that exists in order to harness the appeal and power of the Wycombe Wanderers brand in order to do good within our community.

"As with the majority of charities, we rely on fundraising efforts to deliver many of our projects.

"We’re really hopeful that this ride will appeal to lots of people both inside and outside the club, and that lots of money will be raised for WWSET, all of which will be spent on projects that help our community flourish.”

There is an information evening between 6.30-8pm on Thursday 9th January at Adams Park which all prospective riders should attend.
