Rugby star James Haskell has been named as one of the competitors in this year's TV jungle challenge show I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here.

But the Windsor born sporting hero - who began by playing for Maidenhead Rugby Club - has a warning for fans who think he will find it easy 'toughing it out' in the face of the usual gruesome challenges.

He said: "I’m going in the jungle to have a fun time but I’ve always done this lad bravado kind of thing and actually I am really different.

“The mental side of things can be very tough and I am going in with an open mind. I also think there will be an expectation that I will be good at challenges as maybe I look the part physically but I might be absolutely terrified."

James, who was educated at Papplewick School, in Windsor Road, Ascot is married to television presenter Chloe Madeley.

He announced his retirement from professional rugby in May, after a career full of highlights that included being named as 'man of the series' during England's 3-0 series victory over Australia in June 2016.

He will be competing in the jungle against a starry list of fellow celebrities including Nadine Coyle from Girls Aloud, EastEnders star Jacqueline Jossa, Olympian Caitlyn Jenner, footballer Ian Wright and Good Morning presenter Kate Garraway.
