CHALFONT St Peter suffered back-to-back defeats in the BetVictor South Central Division after a 3-0 loss at Uxbridge on Saturday, writes Rob Stevens.

Uxbridge took the lead with a goal by Alex Paine rather against the run of play and from a goalmouth scramble after 26 minutes at Honeycroft.

The Saints were dealt a blow when Luke Elliott was shown a straight red card for a late challenge after half an hour.

The home team doubled their advantage as Mark Bitmead scored from the penalty spot three minutes before the break.

Uxbridge secured all three points when Bitmead scored his second goal of the match seven minutes into the second half.

The defeat means Chalfont have dropped two places to ninth position in the league table and now five points from the play-off spots.

The Saints turn their attention to the Velocity Trophy and a final match in Group Five at league rivals Bracknell Town tonight (Wednesday 7.45pm).

Marlow ended the Group stages of the Velocity Trophy with a 2-0 defeat against Westfield at Oak Tree Road on Tuesday.

Goals either side of the break from Rhys Rabess and Nkomo Tinashe ensured victory for the visitors.

The Blues welcome third from bottom Ashford Town (Middx) in the league this Saturday (3pm).
