Police have confirmed that they are still treating the death of a woman in a Chesham home as ‘unexplained’ – almost six weeks after the body was found.
Police officers and paramedics were first called to the address at around 7pm on Thursday September 26 after receiving reports of a fear for welfare at the property on Cowper Road in Chesham.
Thames Valley Police confirmed that a woman in her 60s was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigating officers remained on the scene for six days until October 2 after the body was discovered.
Over a month later, the police have confirmed that they are still treating the death as ‘unexplained’.
A spokesperson for the force said: “The death remains unexplained at this stage and we are investigating on behalf of the coroner.”
On October 2, the police confirmed that the death was not being investigated as a murder and ‘any suggestion of this would be incorrect’.
