A brutal attack carried out in the village of Horton back in the summer is still being investigated by police - who have put out a new appeal for witnesses.

The assault happened outside New Horton Manor in Dawn Redwood Close at 4.15pm on Wednesday, July 31.

The 30-year-old victim was attacked by three men with metal poles who drove off in a black VW Golf.

He suffered a fractured thumb and an injury to his eye that needed stitches.

The suspects are all described as white men in their twenties with Irish accents.

The first offender is described as stocky and pale with a close trimmed dark beard and short dark hair (longer on top and swept to the side). He was wearing a white t-shirt, blue tracksuit bottoms and trainers.

The second offender is described as being of medium build, with light hair, short on sides and flattened on top. He was wearing a white t-shirt with a graphic logo and black knee length shorts with a white stripe down the side.

The third offender is described as having dark coloured hair.

Anyone who saw the incident, has a video record of it or knows who the attackers might be is asked to contact the police by calling 101 or making a report online.
