BURNHAM recorded their second win in the Hellenic League Premier Division this season after a 4-1 victory against Virginia Water at The Gore on Saturday, writes Rob Stevens.

The Blues made a slow start to the campaign having been promoted as champions of Division One East last season, with two wins and a draw from eight league matches leaving them third from bottom in the table.

The home steam stormed into a clear lead thanks to goals from Aiden Higgs, Aaron Berry and Sam Coles, but Adam McNamara pulled one back for Virginia Water before the break.

Burnham secured all three points when Matthew Ayres found the back of the net seven minutes into the second half.

The Blues now turn their attention to the Hellenic League Floodlit Cup and a visit to The Gore from Division One East side Penn & Tylers Green on Tuesday (7.45pm).

Windsor completed a hat-trick of wins in all competitions after beating Lydney Town 3-0 in the Premier Division on Saturday.

A second-half brace from Excellence Mahumba and a Dylan Ive penalty kick secured all three points for the home side at Stag Meadow.

The win means Windsor have moved up to seventh position in the league table.

Windsor turn their attention to the Floodlit Cup and a home tie against Stag Meadow tennants and league rivals Virginia Water on Tuesday (7.45pm).

Holyport are out of the Berks & Bucks Senior Trophy this season following a 5-4 defeat on penalties after a 2-2 draw at Sandhurst Town on Saturday.

Goals from Andy Forisky and Fabian Driffill gave Port a clear lead in the second round tie at Bottom Meadow, but Sandhurst forced a shoot-out with strikes either side of the break.

Holyport return to action in Division One East with a trip to Milton United on Tuesday (7.45pm).

Chalvey Sports are also out of the Senior Trophy after a 4-3 defeat at Cookham Dean.

A Jack Shea brace and a goal from Jack Alder gave Cookham a clear lead at the Alfred Major Recreation Ground, but Joe Creighton pulled one back for The Stabmonks before the break.

The visitors levelled the scores with a goal from Tom Jansons plus an own goal, but Cookham ensured their progress when Dan Stacey scored three minutes before the final whistle.

Chalvey Sports welcome league rivals Woodley United to Arbour Park in the Floodlit Cup on Tuesday (7.45pm).

Langley suffered a 6-1 defeat against Wokingham & Emmbrook in the Senior Trophy at Summerleaze on Saturday.
