Supporters of Windsor's Thames Hospice are invited to take part in the fundraising Santa Dash this November.

Everyone taking part will don a Santa suit and dash round Swinley Forest on the Crown Estate on Sunday, November 24, to raise funds for the hospice to continue providing care and support to local families from its base at Hatch Lane. Work is continuing on the construction of a new, bigger home for the hospice by Bray Lake near Maidenhead.

This year the charity is introducing a new Christmas experience to the festive family fun run. Not only will families have an opportunity to run or walk a 3k, 5k or more challenging 10k route, there will also be a special visit from Santa and his sleigh, children’s entertainment, music and refreshments.

Alison Evans, Head of Community and Events Fundraising, said: “This year our Santa Dash is going to be even bigger and better! It’s always such a wonderful festive event, and with a special visit from Santa himself, it is going to be the perfect way for families to kick off the Christmas season.”

Registration is now open with a special early bird offer running until October 31 (adults - £15, children - £5). Entry fee includes a Santa suit for adults and reindeer antlers and flashing noses for children. Every participant, whether dressed as Santa or a reindeer, will receive a medal when they cross the finish line.

There is also an option to purchase a family Christmas experience package for £95 – this includes entry fee for a family of four, children’s priority Santa experience, raffle ticket and refreshments.
