THIS could be the face of the man who tried to abduct two schoolgirls in Reading last week.

Officers investigating two incidents in which a man approached girls in Reading have released an E-Fit image depicting a man they would like to speak to.

Between 8am and 8.15am on Thursday, September 26, in Cressingham Road at the junction of Northumberland Avenue, the man approached the two school-aged girls separately and engaged them in conversation.

In one of the incidents, he grabbed the victim's coat.

The offender is a white man, aged 30 to 40-years-old, around 5ft 7ins tall and of a chubby build.

He was wearing a blue coloured hooded jacket.

Neither of the victims were injured during the incidents.

Investigating officer detective constable Ben Sherriff of Force CID based at Reading, said: "We continue our investigation into these incidents and are now releasing this image in the hope that somebody will recognise the man depicted.

"If you are this man, or believe you know who this person is, then please call the 24-hour non-emergency number 101, quoting reference number 43190298465.

"We are also continuing to appeal for anyone who was driving in Cressingham Road at the junction of Northumberland Avenue last Thursday and believe that they witnessed either incident to contact police.

"Similarly, if you have dash-cam footage, please check this and contact us if you have any information."
