A WOMAN who went to the aid of the stricken partner of jailed woman beater Ricky Wilding will be given £1,000 from the public purse.
The Good Samaritan checked on the violent bully’s ex after Wilding shoved her to the ground during an argument in Greenbridge retail park’s car park.
Last week, Wilding was jailed for six years and eight months for a sickening attack on another former partner.
He dashed her head against a TV unit, knocking her out. While the woman was unconscious and lying on the ground, the 22-year-old stamped on her head.
Swindon Crown Court heard Wilding had, earlier in the year, repeatedly broken the terms of a restraining order banning him from contacting his ex. On one occasion, he had assaulted her in the Greenbridge car park.
Recorder Richard Shepherd was so impressed by the bravery of the woman, who came to the victim's aid, that he gave her a £1,000 sheriff's award. He said: “It is not always easy to intervene when a male the size of this defendant is seen being aggressive.”
