Wraysbury Players' next show will have an international flavour to it - as a 19-year-old visitor from Austria makes her stage debut.

Kathi Stocker came to England from Austria a year ago and is working as an au pair in Wraysbury - she joined the Players in March.

The forthcoming show is a farce called A Bride in the Hand - all about a wedding day that goes wrong in the way they always do in comedies. The plot involves a widow called Kate who is about to get married and the complications that arise when her daughter Vickie takes charge of everything.

Mistaken identities abound - mainly involving the best man Eddie.

Kathi said: "I love being a part of this group. They all welcomed me with open arms the second I entered the room. We support each other and we have fun on stage. It’s like a little family which I’m proud to be a part of.”

The show is directed by husband and wife team Jim and Lesley Minter, who each have 40 years worth of involvement with the group behind them.

It can be seen at Wraysbury Village Hall on The Green from Thursday, September 26 to Saturday, September 28 at 8pm.

Tickets at £10 each are available on 08007 723614 or online at www.wraysburyplayers.co.uk. They can be bought in person at Pennyfields or Sai News in Wraysbury High Street.
