Firefighters rushed to Challfont St Peter yesterday evening after an unnattended bonfire had spread to nearby shrubbery.
At around 7.29 yesterday evening, one fire engine from Amersham was called to the scene on Amersham Road.
Although the bonfire had been intentionally started, it was not attended and had grown to approximately 12m by 4m.
After it had spread to the nearby shrubbery, firefighters used one hose reel and cutting gear to knock the fire back to a containable size.
Cordons were also put in place to prevent animals entering the fire area.
