A specially commissioned series of large scale bronze models are recreating in stunning detail the appearance of Windsor Castle at three pivotal moments in its history.
They can be found in the new introductory gallery, located at the foot of the iconic Round Tower
Historian Doctor Steven Brindle and model maker Ben Taggart will discuss their collaboration creating the models in a special event being held at St George's Chapel on Tuesday, June 25 at 6.30pm
They will explain how they used manuscripts, archaeology, scale-drawings and even surveys using drone-mounted sonar to create breath-taking reconstructions if the castle as transformed from the simple wooden fortress built by William the Conqueror to the stone Gothic palace of today.
Tickets for the event cost £15 (£13.50 concessions) - visit https://www.rct.uk/event/windsor-castle-modelling-the-past-06-2019
