Slough, Windsor and Maidenhead Soroptimists welcomed Gerry Harmon from the visually impaired charity Berkshire Vision to their May meeting held at Fredrick’s Hotel in Maidenhead last Wednesday.
She told members about the work of the organisation which offers support to people of all ages who are blind or partially sighted and their families. She also explained and demonstrated with photographs some of the more common eye problems suffered by the patients.
Soroptimist Lea Jaycock was presented with a framed certificate to mark her 40 years of voluntary service to Talking Newspaper for the blind groups in Slough, Windsor and Maidenhead at a recent reception attended by Slough's mayor.
