The Prince Philip Trust Fund has given out £45,000 in its latest round of grants to good causes in the Royal Borough.

The royal charity is now chaired by Prince Edward the Earl of Wessex.

In the first of its bi-annual meetings this year it granted funds to 37 successful applications from a range of organisations including schools, sports clubs, arts projects and charities which are all based in the Royal Borough.

Beneficiaries included Daisy’s Dream which supports children through bereavement, the Ark Trust which supports people with disabilities, People to Places which helps people with mobility issues, plus Citizens Advice Bureaux in Maidenhead and Windsor.

Local festivals, choral and orchestral societies also received grants as did The Kevin Cruise Foundation which is helping sick children and disadvantaged families to be able to see local theatrical productions.

Six schools across the Borough including Charters, Furze Platt Primary School and Trevelyan Middle School - will receive funds to support a variety of projects including helping hard to reach pupils, buying library equipment and providing outdoor sensory equipment.

Chris Aitken, Secretary and Trustee for The Prince Philip Trust Fund said; “I am often humbled to see, through the grant applications we receive, the sheer amount of diverse and inspiring projects and charitable activity that goes on across the Royal Borough. We are delighted we

can support some of these good causes - and so many of the residents they serve - through this latest round of funding."

The Prince Philip Trust Fund was set up in 1977 to commemorate the Duke of Edinburgh's service to the community.

Applications for grants can be made online at the website www.theprincephiliptrustfund.org and future applications will be considered in the next Board of Trustees meeting later in the year.
