WAM Get Involved - the Royal Borough's volunteer organisation - is in urgent need of people to help out.

It needs volunteers across the Royal Borough to take people to wellbeing activities or medical appointments outside the main towns, to visit isolated people in their homes and to get them involved in social activities - as well as to help those who cannot maintain their gardens any more and to volunteer in day centres or even run a group in their community.

Ramesh Kukar, CEO WAM Get Involved, said “We have a continuing issue with loneliness and isolation, as people live longer and stay in their own homes and we want to make sure that everyone can age well in the Royal Borough. It would be great to have a flexible pool of volunteers where people could keep an eye on someone in need in their own local area. Whether you can offer one hour a week, a month or flexible volunteering, you can make a difference to someone in your community.”
