A new man has taken charge of buying health care services for the Royal Borough.

Doctor Huw Thomas will be taking over from Doctor Adrian Hayter who became chairman of Windsor, Ascot and Maidenhead Clinical Commissioning Group in 2013.

Dr Thomas has been a partner at Claremont and Holyport Practice in Maidenhead for several years and has been a member of the CCG Governing Body since 2017. He has been a clinical lead in the transformation of End of Life care services in the area since 2013.

He said: “I am delighted to be taking on the role of Locality Lead. This role is important in ensuring that the needs of people in Windsor, Ascot and Maidenhead are reflected and that the views of member practices in our area are well understood.”

Dr Hayter said: “I intend to remain involved through my work on frailty, leadership development and the digital agenda. My primary role however is to support patients as a partner of Runnymede Medical Practice and to support the development of local primary care networks in Windsor and Maidenhead."

Dr Andy Brooks, Chief Clinical Officer for the CCG, said: "We will be sad to lose Adrian Hayter from the Governing Body. He has been instrumental in progressing some important areas of work for the local population including, shared care records, services for frail members of our community and the development of future leaders across health and social care.’
