A driver had a narrow escape when a tree crashed down onto his car in Winkfield Road, Windsor 200 yards north of the Legoland roundabout on Thursday afternoon last week.
Firefighters from Langley were driving four vehicles behind the car and stopped to help.
A spokesman said: "The driver had seen the tree start to fall and jammed on the brakes. It was not enough to save the car from damage but he was uninjured.
"There was a vehicle with some landscapers nearby and they used a small chainsaw to start cutting up the tree, before the council sent a team to continue the job."
The road was closed for about 20 minutes while the tree was cleared.
It was the second incident of this kind to happen in the area in a month.
Last month a man was killed when a tree fell on the car he was travelling in on the A308 Windsor Road just outside Old Windsor.
