WINDSOR'S new Rector will be officially inducted on June 6.

Reverend Canon Sally Lodge will be taking charge of the Parish Church, All Saints in Frances Road, Holy Trinity in Claremont Road and St Stephen and St Agnes.

She is currently team rector and area dean in the Chelmsford diocese. She is married to John and has three grown up children.

Mrs Lodge worked as a family lawyer in North Yorkshire, before changing course and becoming a parish administrator at her local church where she realised she had a calling to the ministry.

After training she moved to Essex when her husband's job took the family there and was ordained at Chelmsford Cathedral.

Her induction service at Windsor will be officiated at by Bishop Steven Croft, the Bishop of Oxford and Olivia Graham the Archdeacon of Berkshire.

Mrs Lodge said: "I did not know Windsor before I came to the town for the first time when I had my interview.

"I soon saw beyond the biscuit tin image and realised it is a normal working town. It is going to be a great opportunity and I'm looking forward to the challenge."

She will be moving into the town in May with John. Their children are grown-up but there will be a vital third member of the family living with them - their spaniel Barnabas.
