Offenders damaged a Vauxhall vehicle parked on a driveway by slashing the tyres.

The incident happened in Paynesdown Road, Thatcham last night (Thursday, February 21), between 2am and 10am.

Anyone with information is asked to fill out the Thames Valley Police online form or contact the the 24 hour Police Enquiry Centre on 101 (ref 431944774).

Police are also reminding residents to be aware of what defines criminal damage - the intentional and malicious damage to the home, property or vehicles, which includes graffiti.

Arson is the act of deliberately setting fire to property, including buildings and vehicles.

Some measures that can be taken to try to prevent further criminal damage and arson attacks includes:

  • Get damaged property repaired quickly - vandalised property can attract people who might cause more damage
  • Keep a record of all events that related to the arson attack or any subsequent criminal damage or harassment. Note as much detail as possible, including the date and time of incidents.
  • If possible, try to get photographic or video evidence, but do this carefully and not put yourself at risk.
  • It’s a good idea to look at your home security and, if necessary, upgrade it.
