SUPPORTERS of Windsor's Thames Hospice are calling all cyclists to get into gear and book a place on an exciting four-day road cycle challenge in the French Alps.

The four-day challenge includes rides on some of the most iconic and scenic mountain climbs in Europe, several of which feature in the Tour de France.

Jason Bevan, vice president EMEA Publicity at Warner Bros pictures and a Thames Hospice ambassador is fronting the event. He said: “This will be a unique experience with a unique purpose – you will climb physical mountains and raise money for Thames Hospice, so families can be helped up the mountain of serious illness with the loving touch of hospice care.

“I am proud to be an Ambassador for Thames Hospice, one of the busiest hospices in the UK. I know what it feels like to need the care, support and hope that only a hospice can offer. I was only eight when my dad lost his battle with cancer.

“Since that day my family has been committed to making sure that every person facing serious illness gets the care and support they need at Thames Hospice. So sign up and have the ride of your life, and help to raise vital funds to build a new hospice for every family that needs hospice care.”

All sponsorship money from the event will go towards the building of the charity’s new hospice. Thames Hospice need to raise a further £3million to contribute towards an £18million new build at Bray which will offer increased services in a state-of-the-art facility to ensure every local patient and family member who needs support can receive it.
