An appeal has been launched following reports of a rape in Slough on Wednesday evening.

At 7.45pm on 30 January, police officers were called to St Mary’s Church in Upton following reports of a woman being attacked in the churchyard.

The offender is described as a dark skinned stocky, muscular male between 40 and 45-years-old with dark eyes and a scar on his face.

He was wearing white shoes, a grey hat and a brown or black coat.

Investigating officer Detective Sergeant Lorna Fox said: “We are in the early stages of this investigation, but I am appealing to anybody who witnessed anything last night at around 7.45pm to contact 101, quoting URN 1125 (30/1).

“The victim is being supported by specially trained officers, and you will notice an increased police presence in the area while our investigations continue. A scene watch is currently in place at St Mary’s Church.”
