A second yellow warning for snow and ice this week has been issued for Slough and the Royal Borough.
Thursday afternoon should remain dry, but sunshine will gradually fade as cloud comes in from the west with the wind increasing as the day progresses.
Outbreaks of snow are expected to arrive from the south-west Thursday evening. This will be persistent and could be locally heavy and significant in some places. Snow is expected to last until the early hours of Friday, becoming increasingly patchy as the night goes on.
The Met Office have said residents should expect:
- Possible travel delays on roads stranding some vehicles and passengers.
- Possible delays or cancellations to rail and air travel
- Some rural communities could become cut off
- Power cuts may occur and other services, such as mobile phone coverage, may be affected
- A chance of injuries from slips and falls on icy surfaces
- Untreated pavements and cycle paths might be impassable because of black ice
