THE Men’s Meet & Mingle group started the new year on Thursday last week with a social welcome lunch at the Toby in London Road.

It was a great start to the new year for the social group, which was launched to help men get together to beat loneliness and isolation.

The original women’s Meet and Mingle group started by Aksa Marshal aimed to bring together women in Slough who felt cut off or isolated.

It was an instant success as the ladies enjoyed trips and outings to a variety of places.

It all led naturally to a men’s group led by volunteers Sunil Garg and Harpal Sangha.

Mrs Marshal said: “It all started when husbands of some of our ladies in Meet and Mingle started to take an interest in all the amazing things we were doing.

“Of course the new group will also be for men who are isolated and want to become part of a social group.”

Anyone who would like to become involved is invited to email meetmingle@ymail.com for more details.
