A man was left with black eyes and cuts to his face following an altercation in Reading.

Police are appealing for witnesses following the large scale disorder, which occurred outside the Premier Shop in St Mary's Butts on Sunday, January 13 at 3.30am.

It involved a number of men, all around their early twenties and all wearing dark clothing.

A man who was injured in the incident received hospital treatment and has since been discharged.

Investigating officer PC Steve Anderson, of Reading Investigation Hub, said: “Although this incident happened in the very early hours, we do believe that there are witnesses we still would like to speak to.

“It is also likely that some of the incident was captured on CCTV and we would like anyone with CCTV in the area to get in touch and share that with us.

“If you think you know anything about this incident or you have information which could help with this investigation, please get in touch with police.”
