HUNDREDS of gifts have been donated in support of this year's Christmas Gift appeal run by Slough's Children's Services Trust.

The trust was set up three years ago to provide social care and support services to the children of the Slough borough.

This year hundreds of gifts were collected and given out by the trust in time for Christmas Day.

Two members of the Trust’s staff also joined forces with the team at Angus Steakhouse, in London’s Leicester Square, to give a dozen care leavers a Christmas Day they would never forget with a special lunch and presents.

Queensmere Shopping Centre, Mars, 4 Your Future Soccer Academy and the Salvation Army were also among the organisations which offered their support.

Operations director Eric de Mello said: "It goes without saying, that life for many of the families and children we support is extremely tough and they really appreciate the donated gifts. It’s amazing how the local community can come together in this way to really help make a difference. Thank you so much to everyone who contributed."
