The Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead Council has selected a new Managing Director, subject to ratification from the Full Council on January 28.

Duncan Sharkey has been selected following a meeting of the Employment Panel on Thursday.

Mr Sharkey is currently a corporate director at Milton Keynes Council having held the role since June 2015. He will take over from Acting Managing Director Russel O’Keefe at the Royal Boorugh when he joins the authority.

Councillor Simon Dudley, leader of the council said: “Duncan has over 25 years’ experience in central and local government and in his current role he is responsible for a range of services including regeneration, community safety, housing and waste.

“I am sure he will be a huge asset to the Royal Borough and help us deliver a range of front-line services for our council as well as ensuring we continue to deliver a balanced budget, focus on performance and monitor the range of commissioned services including adults, children’s and highways.”
