PUPILS at St Peter's Church of England Middle School came up with a novel way of helping others at Christmas - when they created an Advent Calendar in reverse.

Instead of opening a little door and finding some chocolate or another treat children at the school in Crimp Hill Road, Old Windsor, have been filling large boxes with different treats every day.

The results were delivered to Windsor Foodshare.

Christmas should be a special time of the year, but for some families it can be an extremely difficult time. Windsor Foodshare supports some of these families and people in our community with essential food supplies, other extras and a few treats.

Emma Wood, who is site manager at the school, said: "Christmas should be a special time of the year, but for some families it can be an extremely difficult time. Hopefully the Advent contributions by Old Windsor's pupils will help families across the area have a happy Christmas.
