An investigation has been launched after knife and spade-wielding burglars broke into a house in Iver this week and attacked two people.

Two men forced their way into a house in Syke Cluan at around 7.10pm on Tuesday and threatened three victims – a woman and a man in their fifties and a woman in her eighties – with a spade and knife before demanding money.

Two of the victims were attacked and the man suffered injuries to his arm but did not require hospital treatment, police said.

Nothing was stolen and the men fled the scene in a vehicle.

The pair have been described as being between 5ft 7ins and 5ft 11ins tall, wearing dark clothing and having their faces covered with balaclavas. They were also described as speaking with Eastern European accents.

Investigating officer detective constable Victoria Bygrave of Force CID in Aylesbury, said: “There are likely to be more patrols in the area following this incident while further investigations take place.

“If you have any questions, please feel free to approach officers. A thorough investigation is underway.”
