A beautiful new tree will one day celebrate 100 years of women having the vote.
Chairman of Burnham Parish Council Judith Foster planted the sapling on Friday, watched by an appreciative audience of guests that included fellow councillors and groundsman Jim Wotherspoon.
An earlier centenary event had included former Slough MP Fiona Mactaggart, Sandeep Tak - a striker with Tottenham Hotspur ladies team and former Slough mayor Lydia Simmons OBE among the guests.
It raised £1,500 for Home-Start, which supports local parents.
The sapling will now grow into a reminder of women’s fight for the vote.
