The Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead has announced a by-election following the unexpected death of councillor Jesse Grey on Monday, October 1.
The former mayor will be given a civic funeral on Wednesday, October 24 at St Edward’s Roman Catholic church in Alma Road, Windsor at 1.30pm.
The by-election to fill the position vacated by his passing has since been requested by two electors and as a result, will take place on Thursday, November 22.
RBWM has issued a statement on its website saying that poll cards will be sent to all eligible electors in the election area around Wednesday, October 24.
The deadline to register to vote at the election is Tuesday, November 6, while the deadline for cancelling or amending an existing postal vote and for making a new application is Wednesday, November 7.
Furthermore, the deadline for applying to vote by proxy is Wednesday, November 14 and ostal votes will be sent to all eligible postal voters in the election area on Friday, November 9.
