AWARD winning cookery author and entrepreneur Ella Mills hosted the largest ever turn-out of supporters on Sunday night for the Brain Tumour Charity's annual Twilight Walk.

It took place in Windsor, setting off from the Leisure Centre in Stovell Road at 4.30pm.

Ella Mills is the woman behind the blog, cookbooks and cafe in Mayfair that come under the banner of Deliciously Ella, which is a high profile supporter of the Brain Tumour Charity.

She and her husband Matt Mills braved Sunday's storm clouds to lead more than 1,000 walkers all of whom are directly affected by brain tumours, through Windsor's winding streets and the ground of the castle.

The 10km walk was designed to raise awareness and vital funds for research into brain tumours.

Ella is the daughter-in-law of Baroness Tessa Jowell, who galvanised the political community in the House of Lords with her campaign for those affected by brain tumours following her own diagnosis.

Tessa’s son, Matt Mills, spoke before the walk saying: “My mother Tessa Jowell passed away five months ago and I hope that she brought a lot of awareness to this horrible disease that we are now as a family completely dedicated to doing as much as possible to defeat, alongside my wife Ella.

“I know that all of us here have had loved ones, family, and friends affected and that we share a common purpose of making this better and together we will do it.”

“We are incredibly inspired to be walking with everyone this evening.”

The Windsor Twilight Walk rounded off a month-long series of supporter-focused events raising funds and supporting all those affected, their families and their friends.
