A year in the life of a mayor kept members of Slough, Windsor and Maidenhead's Soroptimists fascinated and entertained at their May meeting.
The Royal Borough's retiring mayor Cllr John Lenton and the mayoress Margaret Lenton were guests and talked about their experiences.
Mrs Lenton is a long term member of the Soroptimists, a professional women's organisation that fund raises for good causes.
Soroptimist Jean Tyler said: "They had been amazed at what goes on in the borough, how many volunteers there are."
They were accompanied by the mayor's officer Mark Blackshaw who brought the mayoral chain, giving Cllr Lenton the chance to reveal some of the history connected with its individual links.
The meeting was held at the Soroptimists' usual venue Fredricks Hotel in Maidenhead.
