Girls at Claires Court School showed a wide range of theatrical skills when they took part in a drama festival.

The Senior Girls Drama Festival at the school in College Avenue, Maidenhead saw pupils in Year 7 to Year 9 display their own ideas on lighting, sound, projections, props, sets and costumes.

The prize for best theatrical experience of 2018 and best Year 8 performance was given to Freya Wilson, Eva Lancaster, Scarlett Bennett, Megan Pigott, Lucy Hardy and Elodie Boucher.

Their performance of the Circle of Life used mime and movements to tell the story with no dialogue.

Awards were also given for the best actor in each year group - presented to Madeleine Dean, Scarlett Bennett and Hannah Senior.

Head of drama at Claires Court Kate Warren said: "The process has been a journey for our girls, understanding the key skills required to work successfully as a member of a production team, managing themselves and that of others and not forgetting the true acting skills to be delivered on stage."
