Windsor's world famous annual running festival is only three weeks away.

The Meridian Windsor half marathon is on Sunday, September 24 setting off from the Long Walk at 10am.

But the festival starts the previous day with the Boudavida women's 10k race setting off from 10am from the same spot.

Both races need entrants to be over 16. You can enter the Boudavida on £26.50 per entry or the half marathon on £38.50 The races takes place within the confines of the Windsor Great Park - the only events of this kind allowed to do this. The half marathon course is two laps, one of approximately 4 miles, the other of about 7.5 miles with the remainder made up by the 1.5 mile Long Walk at the start and end of the race.

The famous undulating course has flat stretches but there are some hilly sections to make the race a bit more interesting and challenging. The final 1.5 miles along the Long Walk gives runners the chance to enjoy view of Windsor Castle in the distance as they struggle towards the finishing line.

Many runners take the opportunity to support their favourite charity by getting sponsorship, giving them an extra encouragement to complete the route.
