Fulvio Urso-Baiarda from Windsor's Princess Margaret Hospital has been named Cosmetic Surgeon of the Year at the Safety in Beauty Diamond Awards ceremony in London.

Mr Urso-Baiarda, 42, has been consultant plastic, reconstructive and aesthetic surgeon at the Windsor hospital since 2015.

He was awarded his title by a panel of professionals from the medical, cosmetic and beauty industry, as part of the ‘safety in beauty’ campaign event held at the Langham Hotel in London.

He lives in Windsor with his wife Rebecca, a professional photographer and his two small children.

He says he loved science and art equally as a student which initially made a career choice quite challenging.

He said: “It was only when I started to learn about plastic surgery as a medical speciality that I realised you could combine artistic creativity with medicine and I fell in love with the idea of becoming a plastic surgeon. That was a pivotal moment and I haven’t looked back since.”
